Turmeric: Here is the superfood to eat with every meal to have perfect skin

Do you know all the benefits of turmeric, both to consume daily and in your skincare routine?

A spice with a thousand virtues, the merits of turmeric were already praised in Indian literature as early as the 4th century, when it was discovered that it had multiple medicinal properties. Indeed, cooked or as a treatment, turmeric promises numerous benefits for the quality of blood or digestion as well as for the health of joints and bones. Its virtues are also topical: it is not without reason that one of the main rituals of Hindu weddings consists of applying to the face, hands or neck of the bride and groom, shortly before the ceremony, a paste made of turmeric, milk and rose water. If the purpose of this tradition is primarily symbolic (it would chase away the evil eye), it also has the merit of making the skin radiant. Which is not devoid of logic since turmeric is full of particularly precious active ingredients. Namely, vitamin C, the benefits of which we no longer praise for the skin, vitamin B6, iron, potassium and even manganese. An explosive cocktail that explains why turmeric is consumed so much, whether on the plate or in cosmetics.

In reality, it is above all one of its components taken from the root of the plant, curcumin, which is an inexhaustible source of skin benefits: first of all, it is one of the most powerful natural active ingredients to counteract skin oxidation. By protecting the epidermis from external environmental aggressions (first and foremost, the sun), turmeric helps prevent premature aging of cells and boosts the production of collagen and elastin. This spice is also effective in combating hyperpigmentation because it inhibits the production of melanin, the pigment responsible for the appearance of the dreaded brown spots that dot the skin after too much exposure to the sun. Finally, if it also reduces the appearance of dark circles thanks to its anti-inflammatory capabilities, soothes eczema attacks and prevents pores from getting clogged and consequently acne, it awakens the dull complexions and prolongs the pretty summer tan.

To be able to benefit from its many benefits, there are several solutions:

  1. Homemade masks: the most classic (and easiest) mask to make at home requires only 3 ingredients: turmeric powder, honey and coconut milk, at the rate of one teaspoon each, which are mixed until 'to obtain a homogeneous paste. It is then applied to cleansed skin for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing to obtain a radiant complexion and limit acne or rosacea.
  2. Add turmeric powder to your moisturizer : healthy glow effect guaranteed!
  3. Turmeric cures, using food supplements, for an in & out action. Our favorite cures: on the one hand, supplements Pure Glow ofLove, which combine turmeric, probiotics, artichoke, spirulina and rosemary to combat digestive problems while detoxifying the skin and making it naturally more beautiful. On the other, the capsules Glow Edition of Equi London obtained from vitamin C, turmeric and blueberry extract. A well-designed antioxidant blend to prevent skin damage from the sun. It can also be drunk, via the infusions designed by The Capsoulwhich combines green tea, ginger and turmeric to benefit from its anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties.
